The LGTBI Center of Barcelona is the reference facility on LGTBI issues (Lesbians, Gay, Trans, Bisexual and Intersex).

The LGTBI community and the rest of the citizens have a transversal public facility from which a wide catalog of information, guidance and direct attention services is offered, in coordination with the entities and the different administrations.

In addition, the Center develops a cultural, community action and awareness program open to all of society, and that complements the activities promoted by the various entities that make use of this equipment permanently or occasionally.

The LGTBI Center of Barcelona thus becomes a meeting point, reflection and visibility on sexual and gender diversity.

The Center works for the defense of LGTBI rights by responding to the precepts ofLaw 11/2014 , theMunicipal Plan for Sexual and Gender Diversity 2016-2020 and other regulations related to the fight against discrimination of LGTBI people.

The Office for Non-Discrimination is a mechanism for guaranteeing human rights at the local level aimed at addressing human rights violations related to the field of discrimination. The service is aimed at all citizens, with special attention to discrimination suffered by origin, cultural or religious affiliation, sexual orientation and gender identity, among others.

Since 1998, the city of Barcelona has a municipal service aimed at addressing human rights violations related to areas of discrimination.

The OND works particularly hard on thematic priorities: hate speech and discrimination, civil rights and public liberties in the use of public space and full citizenship.

Servei Atenció Integral LGTBI (SAI)

The SAI LGBTI, dependent on the General Directorate of Equality of the Generalitat de Catalunya, is a provision of a service to sensitize and inform people and entities, in order to show the diversity of sexual orientation and gender identity and prevent LGBTifòbia . This resource is put into operation to respond to these situations of discrimination, and also to any need for accompaniment, support or information that citizens have in relation to sexual and gender diversity, and to consolidate itself as a local LGBTI reference.

In the LGBTI SAI, it is where local public policies pivot, promoting the training of public workers and the design and implementation of the actions of the LGBTI local Plan.

These services process the health card with the meaningful name and the certificate I record trans * people, adults and minors. To complete the procedure, you must make an appointment with the closest service to your home.

BCN Checkpoint is a community HIV and STI screening center for gay men, other men who have sex with men, and transgender women. Managed by Projecte NOMS-Hispanosida BCN Checkpoint has been a pioneer in Europe in the introduction of rapid HIV tests in community centers and one of its main characteristics is innovation. Its community intervention model is recommended by the WHO and the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and, over the years, has inspired the creation of similar centers throughout Europe.

 

Projecte dels Noms-Hispanosida, also promotes the BCN PrEP · Point center, the first European center for information, control and research on HIV Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP).

Unitat de Malalties de Transmissió Sexual - Centre de Salut Drassanes

Vall d'Hebron-Drassanes University Hospital has launched the Drassanes Exprés program, which is carried out at the CAP Drassanes. Its objective: to detect and treat sexually transmitted infections (STIs) early and reduce their incidence in Barcelona.

 

The circuit gives direct access to users, without having to go through their family doctor's office. They can go in person with or without prior appointment to CAP Drassanes. Once there, they fill out a questionnaire to decide the diagnostic algorithm, the tests that have to be done are determined and they can know the results online.

Among the improvements of the Drassanes Express, the obtaining of the results of the laboratory samples in less than 3 hours stands out. And in positive cases, users receive treatment in less than 72 hours. The program is developed through the Vall d'Hebron-Drassanes special infectious diseases program, located at CAP Drassanes.
